How to Make a Crochet Bead Bracelet
Materials:
- Embroidery floss
- 4mm Seed beads (to match floss)
- 2 Ribbon crimps (10mm)
- Lobster clasp
- 2 Jump rings (8mm)
Equipment:
- Large eyed sewing needle (that will fit through beads)
Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Add the beads onto the floss
- Thread the embroidery floss onto a sewing needle. The needle should have a larger enough eye that the floss fits comfortably, but small enough that the beads will slip over it.
- Begin adding beads to the floss, slipping them over the needle one by one.
- Repeat until you’ve added 46 seed beads total.
- Remove the needle and slide the beads down the embroidery floss. Attach the floss to your crochet hook with a slip knot.
Step 4: Add in the beads
- Turn your work, ch 1, and insert 1 hdc into the first st.
- Slide one of the beads on the thread towards the hdc you just made, so it sits next to the st.
- Insert 1 hdc into the next st like normal, trapping the bead in the stitch.
- Repeat the last 2 steps (slide bead, 1 hdc) across, stopping at the last st.
- Insert 1 hdc into the last st (without a bead).
Step 5: Stitch the last row
- Turn your work and ch 2. Insert 1 hdc into each st across.
- Fasten off the yarn.
- Sew in the ends.
Step 6: Add jewelry hardware
- Place a ribbon crimp over one end of your bracelet, sandwiching the end of the bracelet between the 2 sides.
- Close the crimp tightly, using a pair of pliers.
- Repeat on the other side and add a jump ring to the crimp.
- Add a jump ring and lobster clasp to the first crimp.
- Your crochet bead bracelet is complete!

How long does it take to make a crochet bead bracelet?
The bracelet with a single row of beads (the one in the pattern above) takes about 30 minutes to make. If you’d like to create a triple-layer bracelet, plan for around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

How much embroidery floss do I need to make a crochet bracelet?
You’ll need about 2/3 of a skein of embroidery floss for a bracelet with one row of beads, and about 2 full skeins for a three-row bracelet.
What size bracelet does this pattern make?
The single-row bracelet measures about 1/2 inch wide and 7 inches long (excluding hardware). The triple-row version is the same length, but just over 1 inch wide.
Both bracelets fit comfortably on a 7-inch wrist. For smaller wrists, use fewer beads and start with a shorter chain. For larger wrists, add a few extra beads and chains to adjust the length.

Can I make a crochet bead bracelet with yarn instead of embroidery floss?
Yes! We do recommend embroidery floss for its smooth, delicate shine, but lightweight yarn works too. The finished bracelet will just be a little thicker and have a softer texture.
The original bracelet uses 4mm beads with embroidery floss. If you’re using yarn, choose a #2 (sport weight) or #3 (DK weight) yarn and a 3mm hook size. You’ll also want to use slightly larger beads (around 5mm) so they thread smoothly onto the yarn.
How do I make a crochet bracelet with 3 rows of beads?
To make the three-row version shown in our photos, follow the same basic pattern as above — just add extra alternating rows of beads and half double crochet.
After completing your first bead row, follow the pattern above to crochet a plain row of hdc stitches. Then repeat step 4 to add another bead row. For a third row of beads, simply work another hdc row and add one final bead row before finishing with a plain hdc row.

With their pretty shimmer and fun texture, these crochet bead bracelets are proof that simple materials can make something truly special. Each one feels unique, from the colours you choose to the rhythm of the stitches. Whether you keep one for yourself or gift it to someone you love, it’s a beautiful reminder of what a little creativity can do!
