Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Cut the box template
- Print the free paper bunny gift box template (find the link in the materials list above!) on white or coloured cardstock.
- Cut the shape from the cardstock. To cut the small slits, we recommend placing the box template on a cutting mat and cutting with a craft knife.
Step 3: Draw the bunny’s features
- Use pink marker to colour the inner part of both ears.
- Draw an outline for the face with pencil. (This allows you to easily correct any mistakes).
- Draw over the pencil with a fine tipped black marker. Add whiskers on either side of the face.
Step 4: Fold the box
- Flip the paper over so the face is toward your work surface.
- Fold each of the sides up on the dotted lines.
- Then fold both ears down (so they’re parallel with your work surface).
- Bring the back of the box (opposite the face) in toward the middle and slide the ear up through the left slit.
- Fold the right flap in, sliding the ear up through it.
- Add treats into the bunny gift box.
- Slide the front ear up through the bottom slit.
- Push the ear up through the second slit on the right, adjusting the box to push the face inside.
Step 5: Add the tail
- Add a small dot of hot glue to a white pom pom.
- Attach the pom pom to the back of the box.
- Your paper bunny gift box is complete!
- Have fun making bunny shaped gift boxes in all your favourite spring colours!

What can I put in my bunny gift box?
These paper bunny treat boxes are the perfect size for small gifts or Easter goodies! They work well for individually wrapped chocolates, like mini chocolate eggs or festive chocolate carrots.
If you prefer a non-edible option, consider tucking in small handmade gifts, such as a DIY flower bracelet or other tiny trinkets. These adorable bunny boxes make charming Easter party favours or thoughtful springtime surprises!

What size is the finished bunny treat box?
The completed paper bunny box is about 2-1/4 inches deep, 2 inches wide, and 3-1/4 inches high (including the ears). Without the ears, the box is only 1-1/2 inches high.
If you’re able to print on larger cardstock sizes, you can enlarge the template before printing to make a bigger box.

How else can I decorate my paper box bunny?
There are endless ways to customize your paper bunny gift box! Try printing the template on different colours of cardstock, or use markers to add spots, blotches, or unique facial expressions.
For extra charm, attach a small bow in front of its ears, swap in googly eyes for a playful look, or give it a soft felt nose. You can even add 3D whiskers using fishing line or clear jewelry-making string for an extra touch of realism!

This paper bunny gift box is a delightful way to wrap up small gifts with a fun, handmade touch. Whether you’re using them for Easter treats, party favors, or a springtime surprise, these adorable boxes are as easy to make as they are charming.
