Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.

Step 2: Cut the pieces for the bunny
- Print our free honeycomb bunny template.(We recommend printing the template on cardstock or copying the pattern onto cardboard for a sturdy template that’s easy to trace).

- Trace the ear template onto coloured cardstock and cut 2 pieces.

- Trace the bunny body onto the same colour of cardstock and cut 20 pieces.

Step 3: Fold and glue each bunny body piece
- Fold each of the body pieces in half vertically.

- Open the fold and add 3 horizontal lines of glue to the right side: 1 at the top, 1 just a bit above the center, and 1 at the bottom.

- Fold in half again, pressing down to make it stick.Repeat for the rest of the pieces.

Step 4: Glue the bunny bodies together
- Add 2 horizontal lines of glue to the folded shape: 1 at the neck area, and 1 in the middle of the body.

- Set one of the other folded body shapes on top. Line up the edges as you connect the 2 pieces of paper.

- Repeat this process until all the papers are connected.

- Make sure the edges are well lined up, then attach a couple of medium sized binder clips to keep the papers together as the glue dries. (It will take several hours for the glue to dry, but we prefer to leave it overnight.)

Step 5: Connect the 2 sides
- Once the glue is completely dry, remove the binder clips and slowly open the papers to reveal a honeycomb shape.

- Add 2 lines of glue to one of the flat sides (the former top or bottom of the bundle).

- Bring the outside edges together, creating a rounded bunny shape. Secure the papers in place with small binder clips as the glue dries.

Step 6: Add the ears and tail
- Once the glue has completely dried, remove the binder clips, and add a small line of hot glue to the bottom of one ear.

- Put the ear in place on the top of the bunny’s head, sliding it between 2 of the papers. Repeat with the second ear.

- Add hot glue to a white pom pom and attach it to the bottom back of the bunny, creating a cotton tail.

- Your paper honeycomb bunny is complete!

- Have fun making honeycomb bunnies in all your favourite spring colours!

Helpful Tips:
- Be careful not to add too much glue to the template pieces or they might stick together in places you don’t want. Open the folds slowly and carefully after the glue has dried in case there are any extra sticky spots.
- If you want to make bunnies in different sizes, adjust the scale of the pattern (smaller or larger) before printing. We made some of our bunnies with the pattern scaled to 80% and 90%.

What type of paper works best for making a honeycomb bunny?
We recommend using cardstock for your paper honeycomb bunny craft. Sturdy cardstock helps create a cleaner look, a more durable 3D paper bunny, and ensures your DIY Easter decoration lasts for seasons to come. Plus, it holds its shape better than thinner paper does.
That said, regular printer paper can still be used, especially if you’re crafting with kids. But keep in mind that a lightweight paper bunny may be a bit wobbly and less durable in storage. If you want a long-lasting Easter craft, cardstock or scrapbook paper is your best bet!

Is there a quicker way to get all my honeycomb bunnies cut?
Yes! If you have a Cricut, or another type of cutting machine, you can use it to speed up the cutting process for these honeycomb bunny decorations.
Simply convert our PDF template into a SVG file and use it with your machine. This will make it a lot easier and faster to get perfectly cut bunny shapes!

How can I decorate my paper honeycomb bunnies?
You can give each honeycomb bunny its own look by using different colours of paper for each one. Pick a spring or Easter colour scheme, make them in more realistic colours, or just use your favourites!
You can also decorate your paper bunnies by adding googly eyes, ribbon bows, or creating paper bunny paws for extra details.
If you’ve got time, you can even try adding a fine line of glue and glitter to the honeycomb edges for a sparkly honeycomb pattern. There are so many fun possibilities!

This paper honeycomb bunny is truly ear-resistible! Each DIY honeycomb bunny has its own unique charm, making it a perfect addition to your Easter decorations or spring mantel display.
Whether you create a single 3D bunny or a whole handmade collection of paper bunnies, this festive Easter craft will bring a cheerful touch to your space. So grab your paper craft supplies and have fun getting creative, because this is one project you’ll definitely want to show off!
