It was really difficult to choose the paint colour for Kate’s nursery. I have spent lots of time thinking about Leah’s room and planning it all, but Kate’s design has been a little neglected! I love the idea of gray because it is so versatile that I can pretty much choose any colour scheme after painting and it will work. It also helped that I found lots of gorgeous nurseries that were painted gray – who knew it was such a popular colour for nurseries these days!?
But choosing a gray was really difficult! There are so many different grays and they only vary by a tiny amount so I had no idea how to pick! I spent about a day thinking I was going to choose Horizon by Benjamin Moore, but ultimately I decided that it was too light and I wanted something that was more obviously gray. So I decided on Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore, OC-52.
Again I scoured the internet for examples of Gray Owl and I was able to find lots of photos! It was reassuring that other people have chosen this colour and that it looks so nice in their rooms! So my fingers are crossed that it will look just as good in Kate’s bedroom!

Once the girls’ bedrooms are painted I’ll post photos of how each paint colour looks. Hopefully there are no surprises!
Thanks for the confirmation; I’ve been searching for a gray as well, one that could be used anywhere, and I’ve settled on Gray Owl. Both of my daughters have yellow accents in their rooms and it looks so fresh and clean with this paint color. My laundry room will have aqua accents…the trim! Nervous about doing that, but if it turns out horribly I can always repaint. Can’t wait to see your after photos!
Aqua trim?! I’d love to see how that turns out! I still haven’t finished decorating my daughter’s gray owl room, but you can see where we’re at here: https://onelittleproject.com/tag/gray-owl/
Getting ready to paint the entire house some version of owl gray. 50% lighter in the base of the house and full streghth in kitchen, study, bathrooms and nooks! I love this color…..it’s so versatile !
A striped application in my daughter bed room with accents of light pastel yellows!
A darker version in the the boys rooms. This color allows for so much freedom for accents yellows, raspberry, and light tourquoises! Perfect gray…..
What do others think about repose grey for stairways entry has light but as you climb up and enter hall way you only have overhead lights. Will this be dark for a hallway? My trim is white, carpet a lt beige color. Feedback appreciated. 🙏🏻👍🏼
