- Paint black around the “flame” of the tea light candle. Cover the top and the sides.Allow to dry.
- Add a second coat of paint and, again, allow to dry. Apply a third coat, if necessary.
Step 3: Paint the cat face
- Use white paint to add 2 cat’s eye shapes.
- Then add a rounded mouth and lines for whiskers.
- Once the white paint is dry, add lined pupils with yellow or green paint.
Step 4: Cut out the ears
- Fold a 1 by 2 inch piece of black felt in half.
- Cut out a triangle shape with a rounded bottom.
- The double layer of felt will give you 2 ear shapes.
Step 5: Attach the ears
- Add a thin line of glue to the bottom of a felt ear.
- Attach the ear on the side of the candle, above one of the eyes. Repeat with the second ear above the other.
- Your black cat Halloween tea light is complete!
- Now have fun painting a jack-o-lantern, a ghost, a vampire, and a witch!
Helpful Tips:
- Add 2 to 3 base coats of paint until the tealight is well coated and you can’t see white anymore.
- You can stick a piece of painter’s tape around the “flame” while you paint the base, to avoid getting colour on it.
