How to Make Halloween Tea Lights

Brighten up the fall season with these Halloween tea lights! They're such a spooky-cute Halloween craft and they look adorable on display.

Step 1: Find what you need

  • Gather your supplies and materials.

Step 2: Paint the base colour

  • Paint black around the "flame" of the tea light candle. Cover the top and the sides.
    Allow to dry.

  • Add a second coat of paint and, again, allow to dry. Apply a third coat, if necessary.

Step 3: Paint the cat face

  • Use white paint to add 2 cat's eye shapes.

  • Then add a rounded mouth and lines for whiskers.

  • Once the white paint is dry, add lined pupils with yellow or green paint.

Step 4: Cut out the ears

  • Fold a 1 by 2 inch piece of black felt in half.

  • Cut out a triangle shape with a rounded bottom.

  • The double layer of felt will give you 2 ear shapes.

Step 5: Attach the ears

  • Add a thin line of glue to the bottom of a felt ear.

  • Attach the ear on the side of the candle, above one of the eyes. Repeat with the second ear above the other.

  • Your black cat Halloween tea light is complete!

  • Now have fun painting a jack-o-lantern, a ghost, a vampire, and a witch!
