What size fruit coasters does this crochet pattern make?
The coasters are about 4-3/4 inches across, which will comfortably fit most glasses and mugs.
What’s the best yarn for making crochet fruit coasters?
We highly recommend using 100% cotton yarn to make your coasters. It makes clean looking coasters that are durable, absorbent, heat resistant, and easy to clean.
Acrylic yarn doesn’t absorb liquids easily, and it’s also not very heat resistant, meaning it can potentially melt if your mug is too hot.

What colours of yarn do I need to make these crochet fruit coasters?
Each coaster requires a different colour combination of yarn. They’re made up of 2 or 3 main colours and 1 decoration colour. Here are the yarn colours you’ll need to make each type of fruit:
- Grapefruit: white, pinky peach
- Lemon: white, yellow
- Lime: white, lime green
- Orange: white, orange
- Kiwi: white, green, brown, black
- Dragon Fruit: white, bright pink, black
- Watermelon: red, light green (or white), dark green, black

These crochet fruit coasters are such a fun way to bring a little handmade colour to your table. They’re quick enough to make in an afternoon, but cute enough to give as gifts, use for summer parties, or keep stacked in the kitchen for everyday drinks.
Whether you make one fruity favourite or crochet the whole colourful set, these coasters are a sweet little project that’s practical, playful, and full of personality.
