Where is London, Ontario?
I live in the “uncool” London. Not London, England. My London is about two hours from Toronto. And you’ll notice on the map below that even though I’m Canadian, I live further south than a good portion of the Unites States.
Fun things about me:
- I have three kids, two girls and a boy, born in February 2010, April 2012 and November 2014.
- I LOVE coffee. And I’m addicted to Diet Coke.
- I went to University for 8 years, once for Engineering and then a second time for Architecture.
- I worked as a Mechanical Engineer who focused on architecture and the building code for 8 years.
- This little blog of mine has grown so much that I was able to quit my engineering job to become a full time blogger in April 2016. I feel so lucky and I couldn’t be happier!
- I met my husband on the internet 9 years ago. We drive each other crazy sometimes, but he’s my best friend!
- I love food. Food is my life. I live for food.
- My husband has chosen to be gluten and dairy free. Don’t get me started.
- I grew up in a big house in the country. I’m a country girl at heart, so this having-neighbours-in-the-city thing often throws me for a loop.
- I play the piano and love to sing and I used to be a teacher for both.
- I’m the least athletic person you will ever meet.
Here’s our little family of five a few days after my son was born:

Hi Debbie, Wow! I found your site a few weeks ago and I love it! Big fan of how you write -it’s like being sat with a friend over coffee! Much love from the UK (not cool London, but pretty farm and coast lined Devon) xx
Awww, thanks! You’re so sweet! I’ve already told my husband about your comment. It seriously made my day. 🙂
Thank you for your recipes – I love the strawberry/brownie skewers. Your photography is pretty darn good……………
I’m teaching the kids to cook this summer and getting some ideas. The Power of Pinterest

had an idea for your peanut butter cup christmas trees…how about making them with white chocolate peanut butter cups? not sure if they are available in Canada or not, but i’m sure that something could be worked out.
Hmmmm… I’ve never seen white chocolate peanut butter cups in Canada, but I bet they’d be beautiful for the Christmas trees! I’ll keep an eye out for them. Great idea! 🙂
How many “1/2 cup” measurements of shaving cream come from an 11oz shaving cream can when you were making your puffy paint?? Just trying to figure out how many cans to buy for school project.
where do I find this stuff at
Hi Debbie. I live in Vancouver, Canada! Opposite end of our great big country! I have a quick question about the Hershey Christmas Trees. I’m wanting to make about 30 of them, you say you used 11.5 inch paper, is that a 12×12 inch paper, and how many trees do you get from one tree?
Hi Teresa – The paper I used was from the card stock paper shelves at Michaels, so if you look there you should be able to find something similar. Mine was exactly 8.5″ x 11.5″. If yours is anything but 11.5″ long you’ll have to fit your pieces on the sheet differently than mine. Which isn’t a problem, it will just take more brain power. 🙂 I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing you could get 2.5 trees from each sheet of paper. Maybe 3, but it really depends on the size of the paper. I hope that helps! And good luck with your project! 30 is a lot!! 🙂
HI Debbie, Boy do I feel dumb. Didn’t realize who you were until I looked at the picture. Anthony, our oldest grew up with your hubby. They used to live next door to us. I just sent you an email.
I love your webpage and am trying to create my own.I followed all your steps like Anthony said to do . Yours is so creative. and well great. Say hi to your other half. He will know who it is .
I rode the shuttle with your husband from Oxford Dodge today…. he mentioned your blog….
Funny! Thanks for popping in to say hi! He mentioned that he rode back with some really nice people today. 🙂
