Instructions
Step 1: Find what you need
Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Paint the flower pot
Decide which farm animal you'd like to make and paint a clay pot the base colour. (Pink for the pig.)
Paint just inside the rim of the pot as well.
Allow it to dry (it dries quickly) then add a second coat of paint, if needed.
Step 3: Cut out the template pieces
While the paint is drying, print the template (link in the materials list above).
Cut out the template pieces for your animal.
Trace the pig's hooves onto grey cardstock and cut them out.
Trace the ears and snout onto pink cardstock and cut them out.
Cut a small strip of pink cardstock that gets thinner on one end.
Twirl the paper around a pencil or your pinky finger to create the pig's spiral tail.
Step 4: Add the details onto the clay pot
Add glue tape to the bottom part of one of the pig's ears.
If you have any pencil marks on the ears, add the tape to this side.
Attach the ear to the inside lip of the pot. Repeat with the second ear.
Use glue tape to attach the snout to the front center of the pot (opposite the ears).
Add glue tape to the back part of the hooves. Attach them under the pot at the front so the hooves are sticking out.
Attach the tail to the back of the pot so it points out on one side.
Use a fine point marker to draw the pig's eyes and nostrils.
Your clay pot animal is complete!
Now have fun using one of the other templates to make a whole group of animal flower pots.
