Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Mix the first ingredients
- Pour 1/2 cup of clear glue into a bowl.
- Add 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda to the glue.
- Stir well, combining until the baking soda is mostly dissolved. Use the back of the spoon to break up any clumps.
- Pour in 1 Tablespoon of water and stir gently, combining into the glue mixture.
- Add about 5 drops of food colouring and stir until the colour is well combined.We used purple food colouring to make “grape jelly”, but you can add the colour of your choice.
- Then add 1-1/2 teaspoons of instant snow powder. Again, stir well.You’ll still see specks of the snow at this point — that’s fine.
Step 3: Activate the slime
- Finally, pour in 2-1/2 teaspoons of contact lens solution.
- Stir well. The slime will thicken quite a bit and begin to pull away from the bowl, but will still be very sticky at this point.
Step 4: Let the slime sit overnight
- Scoop the slime into a plastic or glass container with a lid.
- Place the lid on the container and allow the slime to sit overnight.
Step 5: Enjoy your jelly slime
- The next day, remove the slime from the container and knead/stretch it for a minute. If the slime is still a bit sticky, add a few drops of contact solution.As you play with your jelly slime it’ll become less sticky.
- Your jelly slime is complete!
Helpful Tips:
- Let it rest overnight: After mixing your slime, place it in an airtight container and let it sit overnight. This gives the instant snow time to absorb and helps the slime become clearer and more jelly-like.
- Don’t over-activate: The slime will still be really sticky just after activating — that’s normal! Avoid adding extra activator at this stage.
- Check the texture later: Once the slime has rested overnight, knead it for about a minute. If it’s still too sticky, add a few drops of contact lens solution at a time until you reach the perfect jelly texture.
- Want clear jelly slime? Let the slime sit even longer. The longer you wait, the more time the instant snow has to absorb. After a week or so you’ll have clear jelly slime that still has an awesome squishy texture!
