How do I make a striped crochet Easter egg?
To make a striped Easter egg, follow the pattern above and change colours in this sequence:
- Rounds 1–5: Colour A
- Rounds 6–9: Colour B
- Rounds 10–13: Colour C
- Rounds 14–18: Colour D
We chose the same yellow, pink, purple, and blue that we used for our solid-colour eggs to create the 5-4-4-5 stripe pattern. Feel free to mix and match your own spring shades, working them in different orders to create a nice variety!
You can also use variegated yarn to make a stripey/speckled Easter egg.

What size are these crochet Easter eggs?
Our crochet eggs are about 3 inches tall and 2 inches across. We used a lighter worsted weight yarn (Loops and Threads Impeccable), so your eggs might turn out a bit larger with a regular sized worsted weight.
Change your yarn and/or hook size to create a smaller or larger crochet egg.

These crochet Easter eggs are such a simple way to add a handmade touch to your spring decorating. They’re quick to make, easy to customize, and perfect for bringing out year after year. Whether you keep them classic pastel or mix things up with bold stripes, each little egg has its own cozy charm.
Once you’ve made one, it’s hard to stop — they’re the perfect small project for relaxing and using up scrap yarn. Add them to baskets, display them in a bowl, or gift a few to someone who appreciates handmade Easter decor!
