Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Make the centers of the daisy
- Starting with the yellow yarn, insert 12 single crochet into a magic circle.Pull the tail to tighten and slip stitch in the first st to join.
- Fasten off the yarn. This will be the center of the daisy.
- Rep, making another identical daisy center. Fasten off, leaving an 8 inch tail this time.
Step 3: Crochet the daisy petals
- Insert your hook into any st on the first yellow circle. Attach white yarn and chain 6.
- Starting in the second ch from the hook, insert the following sts into successive chs across: sl st, sc, double crochet, dc, sc.
- Sl st into the next st on the yellow circle to anchor the first petal.
- Rep the same petal pattern (ch 6, st pattern, sl st in next st) around until you have 12 petals.
- Finish the last petal with a sl st into the first st (the bottom of the first petal).
- Fasten off the yarn.
Step 4: Sew the flower together
- Weave in the ends on the daisy.
- Use the long tail on the second yellow circle to attach it to the back of the daisy, overtop of the other circle.Leave a small gap for the stem to fit in-between.
- Weave in the ends on the second circle.
Step 5: Make a leaf
- Using green yarn, ch 10.
- Starting in the second chain from the hook, insert the following sts into successive chs across: sl st, sc, half-double crochet, dc, triple crochet, dc, hdc, sc, sl st.
- Fasten off the yarn, leaving a 4 inch tail.
Step 6: Make the daisy stem
- Cut a 12 inch piece of wire and fold it in half.
- Use pliers to twist the wire together, leaving a small gap at the folded end.
- Starting at the folded end, insert green yarn into the gap to secure it, and wrap the yarn around the wire.
- Continue wrapping until you reach about 1/4 inch from the end. Cut your yarn and secure it in place between the wires, using pliers to push the ends together.
Step 7: Assemble the daisy
- Attach the leaf partway down the stem. To do this, wrap the tails tightly around the stem a couple of times and then sew them back into the leaf to secure it in place.
- Add a dot of hot glue to the end of the stem (the part where the wire is showing).
- Insert the stem into the gap between the two circles of the daisy.
- Cut the tail from the stem, if you haven’t already.
- Your crochet daisy is complete!

What size crochet daisy does this pattern make?
This crochet daisy pattern makes a flower that’s about 3 inches across. With the stem, the flower is about 8-3/4 inches tall.
What yarn is best for making a crochet daisy?
We used worsted weight yarn (medium, size 4) in white, yellow, and green to make our crochet daisies. This is a great project for using small amounts of yarn from your stash!
To make a smaller, more delicate looking flower, use DK yarn and a 4mm crochet hook.

Do I have to add a stem to the crochet daisy?
No, you can definitely leave the stem off the flower. Simply sew the two circles completely together, instead of leaving a gap for the stem.
What can I do with a crochet daisy?
Set your daisies on the mantel in a vase, or use them as part of a bouquet. They look so cheerful!
And if you leave off the stem you can attach the daisy to a bag, throw pillow, headband, or hairclip. Or sew it to a pin backing to create a crochet brooch!
You can also attach the daisy to a wall hanging, garland, or wreath. Or decorate a homemade gift by tying the flower onto the knots of fabric gift wrap.

How long does a crochet flower last?
Crochet flowers will last for a really long time, especially if they’re set on display, instead of being handled regularly. If you use quality yarn and tie in your stitches well, this crochet daisy will last for years to come!
To keep your crochet flowers bright and beautiful in the long term, clean them with a lint roller to remove dust. You can spot clean them with a damp cloth or sponge. Keep the flowers out of direct sunlight to reduce fading.

It’s so fun to make a crochet daisy that you’ll want to make a whole bouquet! These friendly looking homemade flowers are great to give as a homemade gift or to sell at craft shows. They’re also a fun stash busting project that you can make in 30 minutes or less!
