Learn how to use alcohol ink on glass to create colourful, flowing designs! This easy and creative craft is perfect for making unique home decor and handmade gifts.
Place a clean glass upside-down on a protected surface. We added parchment paper to a baking tray. You also need to wear gloves when working with alcohol inks as they stain and don't wash off easily.
Choose colours of alcohol ink that complement each other and look good when blended. We used green, blue, and white here.
Add a drop of alcohol ink to the bottom (current top) edge of the glass. It will drip down the side to the bottom (actual top) of the glass.
Add more drops of the same colour, spacing them a bit apart. Enhance the colour by adding another drop on top of the first one.
Step 3: Continue decorating the glass
Select another colour and place drops between the previous colour. It's okay if the colours blend a bit.
Then add your third colour overtop. We used white to soften and blend the 2 previous colours.
Repeat around the whole glass and allow to dry for a few hours.
Step 4: Clean the rim and seal
Once dry, flip the glass over and clean the rim with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.
When the alcohol ink is completely dry (you may want to wait 24 hours to be safe), brush on a coat of gloss Mod Podge. This will seal the alcohol inks. Allow to dry.
Your alcohol ink glass is complete!
