Instructions
Step 1: Find what you need
Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Cut the paper
To make a paper chrysanthemum you'll need 1 sheet of 8-1/2 by 11 inch coloured paper.
Fold the paper in half lengthwise.
Then cut the paper in half on the fold line. We'll be using both halves of the paper.
Step 3: Make the petals
Fold one of the halves in half lengthwise again.
Then fold the open side of the paper in about 1/2 inch. This fold line will be a guide for where to cut.
From the folded side of the paper, cut strips in the paper a bit less than 1/4 inch apart. Make the cuts go up until the fold line.
Continue making cuts until the end of the paper and then open the fold.
Flip the paper over so the center fold is pointing up. Add glue tape along one of the edges.
Fold the other long edge of the paper over into the glue tape. Do this slowly and carefully, aligning the edges of the paper well.
Repeat all of step 3 with the other half of the paper.
Step 4: Put the flower together
Add more glue tape along the edge of the petals.
Set the end of a paper straw onto one end of the paper.
Begin rolling the paper around the straw. Do this carefully, making sure the paper edge lines up neatly as you roll.
Once you get to the end of the first paper add glue tape to the second. Set the flower onto the paper and roll this piece around as well.
Once you get to the end hold the paper down with a bit of pressure to make sure it stays in place.
Your paper chrysanthemum flower is complete!
