Drop food coloring and water onto eggs to create beautiful "watercolor" Easter eggs! It's an easy technique that makes unique and GORGEOUS color patterns.
Place 2 layers of paper towel on a baking sheet or another protected surface.
Dip a cooled hard boiled egg in water.
Place the egg onto the paper towel.
Step 3: Paint with food colouring
Choose a colour of food colouring and add several drops to the top of the egg.
Dip your paintbrush in the water.
Drop water onto the food colouring. You can also use the brush to push the colour in different directions.
Continue adding water drops, using the brush to move colour around.
Add more of the same colour and repeat the process until you've covered more of the egg and you're happy with how the base colour looks.
Step 4: Experiment with more colours
Add more drops of food colouring in a second colour.Try to choose a colour that will blend well with the first.
Repeat, adding water and spreading the colour over the egg.
Add a third colour and use the brush and water to spread this colour. The more water you add, the more the colour will be diluted and the lighter the colour will be.
If you'd like your original base colour to stand out more you can add more of it on top.
Continue layering and adding colours until you're happy with the result - there's no wrong way to do it!Allow to dry.
