Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Mix the first ingredients
- Pour 1/2 cup of clear glue into a bowl.
- Add 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking soda.
- Stir, mixing together until fully combined.
- Add 6 drops of amber (yellow) food colouring.
- Add 4 drops of brown food colouring and stir to combine.
Step 3: Activate the slime
- Activate the slime by adding 2-1/4 teaspoons of contact lens solution. You may need to add more, but start with this amount.
- Stir the mixture well, until it’s thick and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Step 4: Work the slime in your hands
- Pick up the slime and begin stretching it. It’ll still be quite sticky at this point, but don’t panic!Keep working the slime with your hands and only add more contact solution (a few drops at a time) if it stays sticky after a minute or so of mixing.
- Once the slime is no longer sticky, place it in a plastic or glass container with a lid. Allow to sit for 2 to 3 days.
- After the slime sits for a few days it’ll darken in colour and become clear, looking just like honey.
- Your honey slime is complete!
Helpful Tips:
- Start slow with the activator: If your slime is still sticky after kneading, add more contact lens solution a few drops at a time. Work it in well and test the texture before adding more. It’s easy to overdo it, and once the slime becomes rubbery, it’s hard to fix.
- This honey slime is not edible!! It may look just like real honey, but it’s only for play. Be sure to keep it away from little mouths!

How can I colour my honey slime?
To get that rich, golden honey colour, you’ll need amber (or yellow) and brown food colouring. It’s also important to let the slime rest for a few days. This helps air bubbles rise and gives the colour time to deepen.
We tried using the standard food coloring shades to make the proper honey colour, but the result looked muddy instead of golden. However, large packs of food colouring, which you can easily find online, have just the right shades.
And if you want your slime to have a touch of shimmer, try adding extra fine gold glitter or mica powder.

How can I play with my clear honey slime?
There are lots of fun ways to enjoy this slime! A honey dipper makes a great prop, and adding honey or bee-themed charms adds to the cuteness.
You can even store the slime in a small glass jar to make it look like a little pot of honey — perfect for display or gifting.

What activator works best for honey slime?
We recommend using contact lens solution. It’s simple, safe for skin, and easy to work with. Just make sure to include enough baking soda in your glue mixture to help the activation process.
Alternatively, you can dissolve 1 teaspoon of borax powder into 1 cup of hot water to create a strong activator. This method is cost-effective, but be cautious: borax solutions can be harsh on skin if used undiluted or in large quantities.

Honey slime is a fun and eye-catching twist on the classic slime recipe. With its golden glow and glossy finish, it catches the light beautifully and feels as smooth as can bee.
This clear honey slime is quick to make, a joy to squish, and so pretty you’ll want to keep it on display. We hope it brings a little extra buzz and a whole lot of fun to your day!
