Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Make a pom pom
- Cut a 10 to 12 inch piece of yarn in the colour of your bunny. Place it between your middle and ring fingers, and then hold the ends with your thumb.
- Wrap the same colour of yarn around all 4 of your fingers approximately 100 times.
- Cut the yarn from the ball.
- Bring one side of the 10 inch yarn (between your fingers) back to the front and tie it around the bundle.
- Slide the bundle off your hand. Tie the yarn into a double knot around the center of the bundle.
- Use fabric scissors (or other sharp scissors) to cut through the loops of yarn, creating a rough pom pom shape.
- Give the pom pom a “haircut”, trimming and shaping it until it’s a round ball shape.
Step 3: Make the bunny’s feet
- Fold a piece of grey felt in half and cut out a bunny foot shape.
- Cut oval pads from light pink felt, and then cut six tiny pink pieces for the toes.
- Glue the foot pads and toes onto the grey felt feet.
Step 4: Glue the pieces to the pot
- Add hot glue to the inside of a 2-1/2 inch clay pot.
- Place greenery or flowers into the glue so they stick out of the pot. Hold them in place until the glue dries and they stay on their own.Add more flowers in, if you’d like.
- Set the pom pom in the top of the pot. You can glue it if you’d like, but the plants will help keep it in place.
- Glue the feet to the pom pom body with the toes pointing down.
- Then glue a pom pom (or part of a cotton ball) onto the bum for a tail.
- Your bunny butt flower pot is complete!
- Make a variety of adorable bunny bum flower pots to give as sweet Easter gifts!
Helpful Tips:
- If you want a mess-free version, especially for younger kids, use strong double-sided tape or adhesive dots instead of hot glue. This makes it easier to reposition pieces and eliminates the risk from the hot glue gun.
- Use a terracotta clay pot for a rustic look, choose a pastel pot, or paint one yourself for a bright and cheerful spring vibe!

Can I use real flowers in my bunny bum flower pot?
Yes! Just make sure to protect your bunny from water damage so it stays looking great all season long.
You can place a small plastic wedge between the soil and your bunny to keep it from getting wet and dirty. If you’re using a liner inside the pot, ensure it extends high enough to shield the bunny from excess moisture.
And when watering your plant, pour carefully around the edges to avoid splashing onto the bunny’s feet or tail.

Can I make a flower pot bunny without hot glue?
Yes! While hot glue provides the strongest hold, you can use regular school glue, tacky glue, or even glue dots if working with kids. Just be sure to check the drying instructions for your glue of choice and allow everything to fully set before handling.

What kind of artificial plants look best in these bunny flower pots?
Small blossoms like daisies, baby’s breath, or pansies work well because they complement the whimsical bunny theme. If you want a fuller arrangement, use faux greenery, pastel-coloured flowers, or bright springtime florals.
For an extra festive touch, consider using Easter-themed floral picks, mini decorative eggs, or ribbon accents to complete the look. If your flower pot is lightweight (instead of clay), be mindful of heavier floral stems. They can cause the pot to tip, so add floral foam or small stones to keep everything balanced.

This bunny butt flower pot is an adorable and easy craft that’s perfect for Easter! Whether you’re decorating for a spring gathering or making cute gifts, this DIY project adds a fun touch to any space. Get creative with colors and decorations to make it your own, and enjoy this playful addition to your seasonal decor!
