Toast to a crafty New Year with this dazzling New Years wine bottle decor! These wine bottle centerpieces are an easy and stylish project, perfect for beginners and fun for kids and adults to make together.
Paint an empty, clean wine bottle any colour. This will be your main colour. We chose gold.Allow the paint to dry.
Repeat, adding several coats of paint. Allow the paint to dry between coats.
Step 3: Add an accent colour
Apply painter's tape to the bottle to create a fun pattern or design. We made horizontal lines on this bottle.
Paint around the taped areas with an accent colour (we chose black).
Remove the tape. Then allow the paint to dry.
Step 4: Add some sparkle
Apply Mod Podge over the areas painted in the accent colour.
Use a q-tip to wipe any Mod Podge that got onto the base colour.
Sprinkle glitter onto the Mod Podge that matches the paint colour underneath (black). Allow the Mod Podge to dry, then brush away any excess glitter.
Step 5: Create numbered skewers
Print our free wine bottle centerpieces template. The link is in the materials list above. Cut out the numbers you'd like. They can represent the year, table numbers, etc.
Trace the template onto glitter cardstock. Cut the numbers from the cardstock.
Add a generous dot of hot glue to the flat end of a wooden skewer.
Place the back of the number into the glue. Hold them together until the number stays in place on its own.
Repeat with any other numbers you'd like.Make 1 wine bottle for each number.
