These silly grass hair planters are a fun and entertaining craft for kids! They'll love choosing the perfect photo and watching the grass hair sprout and grow.
Have an adult use scissors or a sharp knife to poke a hole in the bottom of a plastic cup. This is optional but will give your grass hair a drainage hole to stop the roots from rotting.
Wrap your picture around the cup, lining up the bottom. Mark the top of the picture on the back, at the top edge of the cup.Cut along the marked line. This will give you a picture that fits perfectly on the cup. Set the photo aside for now.
Step 3: Plant the seeds
Fill the cup 3/4 full with soil.
Cover the top of the soil with seeds.
Fill the rest of the cup with soil.
Step 4: Attach the photo
Tape the picture to the cup.
Step 5: Let it grow
Add water and then cover the top of the cup with plastic food wrap (use a rubber band to keep it in place).
Set in a warm place with indirect sunlight. Check the soil moisture regularly to ensure it stays damp.Remove the plastic wrap once the wheat is about to touch the plastic. You should have grass hair growing well within 2 weeks.
