Spot some leprechauns with these DIY leprechaun lookers. These paper roll binoculars are such a cute St. Patrick's Day craft, perfect for kids and pretend play.
Cut a piece of green paper to be 6 x 4-1/2 inches (or whatever size will fit around your paper roll).
Glue the paper around the roll. We used tacky glue here, but glue tape will also work.
Repeat, covering a second paper roll.
Add a line of hot glue along the seam of one paper roll.
Push the two paper rolls together, making sure the ends are lined up.
Step 3: Add pipe cleaners around the ends
Fold a gold pipe cleaner in half, making a sharp "V" point at the fold.
Add hot glue in-between the connected paper rolls at one end. Attach the pointed center of the pipe cleaner there, pushing it down in the gap.
Glue the pipe cleaner around the ends of the paper rolls, adding a bit of glue every inch or so to keep it in place.Cut off any excess from the ends of the pipe cleaner, if needed, and then repeat, adding a second pipe cleaner on the other end.
Step 4: Decorate the leprechaun lookers
Gather items to decorate your binoculars. We chose gold sequins and green flatback gems for these leprechaun lookers.Attach each sequin with a small dot of tacky glue.
Repeat, decorating with the flatback gems. Allow the tacky glue to dry before handling, or the gems might slide out of place.
Step 5: Add a hanger
Cut a 32 inch piece of ribbon, yarn, or string. We used green ribbon, but metallic shades or white will also look nice.
Use hot glue to attach each ribbon end to the inside of the binoculars.
