(This step gives the fabric leaves a 3D look and adds dimension to your place cards. If your faux leaves are attached to a plastic backing, or you don't care if the leaves are flat, you can skip this step.)Start by adding hot glue to the bottom center of one of the fabric leaves.
Fold the side of the leaf over into the glue, creating some dimension.
Repeat on the other side.
Do this for all 5 of your leaves. Set them aside for later.
Step 3: Cut out the turkey parts
Print off our free turkey place card template! Find the link below, or in the materials list above.
Cut out all the parts of the template.
Trace the template parts onto coloured paper.Trace the body onto brown paper, the beak onto orange, and the wattle onto red. Be sure to trace 2 yellow feet.
Cut out the template parts and gather all your pieces together. You'll also need 2 googly eyes and a clothespin to make your Thanksgiving place card.
Step 4: Add the leaves to the clothespin
Add hot glue to the bottom center of one of the leaves.
Make sure you're holding the clothespin so the clamp side (the part that holds things) is facing up.Attach the leaf onto the back of the clothespin, so about half of it is sticking out from the top.
Add the rest of the leaves behind this first one. Place two of them closer to the bottom of the clothespin. Angle these leaves so the tops are pointing out to the side. Then attach the other two leaves higher up on an angle, pointing out above the first leaf on either side.
Step 5: Attach the turkey to the clothespin
Add a line of glue tape down the center of the turkey's body.
Attach the turkey body to the clothespin so that the head isjust above the top of the clothespin.
Add glue tape to the back of the googly eyes and attach them near the top of the head.
Connect the wattle to the back of the beak so that it points down, and then glue both these pieces below the eyes.
Add glue tape to the leg part of the feet. Attach them to the back of the body so that the feet point outwards at the bottom of the body.
Step 6: Write and attach the name card
Cut a piece of paper or cardstock to be 2-1/4 inches across and 1-1/2 inches tall.Write the name of your guest in the top center of the paper.
Open the clothespin and clip the name card into your turkey name card holder.
