One more day until my book, Low-Mess Crafts for Kids launches!! The book is packed with fun and easy kids crafts just like these wiggly worm puppets! I think my favourite part about the book is that if you make all the crafts from a chapter, you can play with them all together in a fun little scene. Or you can make each craft on it’s own – it’s completely up to you!
These pom pom wiggly worm puppets are so adorable and they’re really easy to make! You can make each one in less than 10 minutes and there’s zero mess. It’s such a fun and simple craft to try with the kids!
Out of every craft from my book, these were my absolute favourite! They are so much fun when they wiggly and squirm across the table, and I love that you can see their fun little movements in the video. Still photographs just don’t do them justice. 🙂
Did you see the craft we posted on Friday? (The beaded pipe cleaner people.) We only posted it as a sneak peak, but it’s already taking off on Pinterest! After only 3 days it already has over 700 pins on Pinterest, which is kind of crazy for such a short time. If you missed it, be sure to check out the cute craft video here.
There are 70 more fun crafts, just like this one in our new book Low-Mess Crafts for Kids.
Where to buy:
You can purchase Low-Mess Crafts for Kids from Amazon, or wherever books are sold:

What does any of this has to do with kids?
Whomp whomp whomp. Don’t be a party pooper. These are kid friendly activities.
For a more kid friendly option, I think beads would work just as well. I’m an occupational therapist working with special education students, and I wouldn’t want them using a needle and thread either 🙂 so BEADS! 😁
Working on this for our farmers market and I think it’s genius. I purchased plastic needles and I’m using thick thread. It will be the perfect craft for kids of all ages. Thanks!
Oh my gosh. After watching the wiggly worm puppets video, my 10 year old granddaughter jumped up and said she needed to make one now!!!
So cute – summer and kids crafts go together. We will make these as soon as I get supplies and this one does not take much. Probably have enough now.
Thanks
Very nice and easy for my grandchildren!
What size pompous are these? We will make them and do a writing project. The kids will be over the moon in love with this project!
The label on the pom pom bag says “Mini Pom Poms” and I got them from the dollar store. They are a little more than 3/8″ but less than 1/2″.
So cute! Are there crafts in the book that kids can do themselves? I don’t think I’d let my 7-yr-old touch a needle and thread.
Absolutely! There are lots of simple crafts in the book that a 7 year old could do on their own!! 🙂
My mom taught me how to sew buttons on cloth when i was 5 or six. I was then able to move on to easy embroidery straight stitch. She taught me the sewing basics that most kids dont know today. I could embroidery pot holders that i gave as Christmas gifts by the time i was 8 years old. Then onto pillowcases. Teach your 7 year olds how to sew. It wont kill them.
Wow, I must be a bad mom! I gave my three year old a needle and thread when she wanted to sew like mom. She’s now five and still has all her fingers. Stop molly coddling your kids, life is full of finger pricks.
Where are the gnomes?
I’m not sure which gnomes you mean, but we do have some Gnome Wooden Spoon Puppets! We also have Beaded Pipe Cleaner People.
Happy crafting!
On Pinterest, the picture that takes you to this link is little DIY painted gnomes that look like they’re made of clay and painted.
Thanks for letting us know, Emily… someone else must have linked the wrong post on Pinterest.
Thank you for sharing. My 7 year old wants to make these for her class marketplace project. She knows how to use a sewing machine so needle and thread are second nature to her.
Sounds great, Natalie! Hope she enjoys making them. 🙂
