Hey guys! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I’m back to share a super sweet Valentine’s Day project!
Are you the type of parent that goes out and buys pre-made Valentines with whatever character your kids are loving at the moment? Or do you spend hours making handmade and creative cards every year with (or without) the kids? I’d like to say that I’m the handmade type of mom, I usually am in most situations. But, when it comes to Valentine’s day, I’m usually a last minute, run to the store, type of mom.
I’d like to try to be somewhere in between the 2 extremes this year. These little tissue paper lollipop flowers are exactly the kind of handmade Valentine that I can get behind! They are so easy and only require a few materials. The best part is that kids can help make them and I guarantee that no one else in their class will bring the same exact thing as them! They are so cute that you may want to make some to bring to work – adults can enjoy a cute Valentine too!
Make these in pink and red or experiment with making them in non-traditional colors like blue or orange! They will look so sweet either way! I was inspired by these lollipop flowers but decided to take a slightly easier approach and I love how they turned out!

The tutorial is at the bottom of this post, but here is what you will need:
- Tissue Paper
- Green Construction Paper
- Lollipops
- Washi Tape
- Scissors
Begin by cutting your tissue paper into 2 rectangles that measure about 3×6 inches. It doesn’t have to be exact! Stack the rectangles on top of each other and fold them accordian style.
Next, trim off one end of the folded pieces by curving the edges. Unfold the paper and you will see a scallop shape. Make 2 inch cuts on either sides of each scallop.
Take one scalloped piece and start wrapping it around the base of the lollipop.
Secure it with washi tape and repeat with the second piece of tissue paper. This will make the flower appear fuller.
Lastly, cut a leaf shape out of a piece of green construction paper and attach it to the stem. This is a great place to write the name of who the Valentine is for!
They are just so cute all bunched together in a bouquet!
You can make these flowers with any size of lollipop. Just adjust the size of tissue paper rectangles accordingly.
