Instructions:
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Make the pea pod
- Start with a piece of green felt about 2-1/4 inches square.
- Fold the felt in half.
- Draw a curved pea pod shape along the open edge.
- Cut the pod shape through both layers of felt, so that the two sides are identical.
- Using a needle and embroidery thread that matches your felt, sew the 2 pieces together along the curved side using a blanket stitch. Leave the corners unsewn at the edge.
- Cut the thread ends and tuck them into the middle of the pod so they’re not visible.
Step 3: Add the “peas”
- Draw little faces on the green beads with a black permanent marker or paint pen.
- Place the beads onto an eye pin, making sure the faces are facing the same direction.
- Cut away any excess wire, leaving about 1/2 inch past the bead.
- Using round nose pliers, curl the end of the pin to secure the beads on it.
Step 4: Place the peas in the pod
- Add a line of hot glue to the middle of the pod.
- Place the beads into the glue, making sure the faces are pointed upwards.
Step 5: Add the chain
- Place a small jump ring onto one end of the eye pin. Don’t close it yet.
- Cut a piece of chain to be between 5 to 6 inches long. (The exact length needed will depend on your wrist size.)Add one end of the chain into the jump ring and close it off.
- Repeat, attaching the other side of the chain to the other side of the peas.
- Add a small amount of hot glue inside the pod, along the corner near the point.
- Insert the chain into the glue and allow the rest to stick out from the corner of the pod.
- Pinch the corner of the pod, enclosing the chain and sticking the 2 sides together.
- Repeat on the other side.
Step 6: Add a clasp
- Find the middle of the chain and use your pliers or wire cutters to break the chain into 2 halves.
- Add a jump ring to one end of the chain and attach your lobster clasp to it. Then close the jump ring.
- Your DIY peas in a pod bracelet is complete!
- Now make another bracelet for your BFF so you can be 2 matching peas in a pod!
Helpful Tips:
- Use an ultra fine tip marker to draw faces on the beads. This allows you to create cleaner, more detailed expressions.
- Choose a slightly thicker felt to make your pea pod sturdier and give the bracelet a polished look. Wool blend felt doesn’t pill and holds up well to wearing.

What size beads work best for this pea pod friendship bracelet?
To make a two peas in a pod bracelet we recommend using round beads that are between 8mm and 10mm (they make the perfect “pea” size). Make sure the beads are opaque (not see-through), so they look more like real peas and allow the cute little faces to show up.
If you want to make a 3 peas in a pod necklace or bracelet, keep the beads the same size and simply adjust the length of the eye pin.

What type of chain should I use for my pea pod bracelet?
A fine jewelry chain (2 to 3 mm) works best for this peas in a pod bracelet, since you want something lightweight but sturdy. You can choose any colour of chain you like: gold, rose gold, silver, or any other colour.

What type of glue works best for making pea pod jewelry?
Hot glue provides a quick and strong hold, especially for attaching the beads securely. It allows the felt to bond almost instantly.
But you can also use fabric glue or even tacky glue. With these glues, simply hold the felt together until it stays in place on its own.

This DIY peas in a pod bracelet is such a fun project and a sweet way to create a personalized, wearable piece of art. Whether you’re crafting for a special friend, making party favours, or just adding a little whimsy to your jewelry box, this little bracelet is sure to bring smiles all around!
