Broccoli cauliflower salad is so delicious, and it’s really simple to make! Bacon, cheese, cauliflower, and broccoli come together for an awesome flavour combination.
Broccoli Cauliflower Salad
This salad has all the best flavours rolled into one. Broccoli, cauliflower, bacon, cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise combine to make this amazing side dish. This creamy, crunchy salad is the perfect compliment to so many meals.
Summer is a great time of year for fresh broccoli and cauliflower. I found bunches of both vegetables – grown locally – in my grocery store. Fresh, local produce just tastes better somehow!
Broccoli and cheese is such a classic combination (like in the broccoli and cheddar muffins we made, which I highly recommend!), and the addition of cauliflower and bacon makes it even better.
To make this salad, chop the bacon into bite sized pieces and cook. Cut the veggies, add the shredded cheese, and mix the dressing together. Combine the ingredients, pop it in the fridge for about 2 hours before serving, and you’re done! It’s that simple!

Can I use bacon bits in this broccoli cauliflower salad recipe?
You really can’t beat fresh bacon. The smell. The texture. It’s so good. True, it takes a bit longer to fry it up, but it’s worth it!
However, I’ve been using real bacon bit pieces from Costco for a lot of my recipes lately. They save a lot of time, and they taste great as well! They might not be as good as fresh, but they would work really well for this recipe!
Will pre-grated cheese work for broccoli & cauliflower salad?
You can absolutely use pre-grated cheese in this salad! Having bags of pre-grated cheddar cheese in my fridge makes things so much more convenient, and in a recipe like this you can’t tell the difference.
How long does this broccoli and cauliflower salad last?
This salad recipe lasts for three to four days in the fridge, but it really is best in the first day or two. It would last for a week if you prepared all the ingredients (including making the dressing) and kept them separate in the refrigerator. Then simply mix together a portion a couple hours before eating, and you’re set!
What meals would go well with this broccoli cauliflower salad?
This salad makes the perfect side dish for so many meals. Wouldn’t it be amazing alongside a barbequed steak?!
Broccoli cauliflower salad also makes a great companion to Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken, Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks, and Easy Ravioli Lasagna.
