How to Make Glitter Snowflakes
These DIY glitter snowflakes are the perfect winter project! Use our free templates and then peel your glitter snowflake off the wax paper, turning it into a fun ornament or decor piece.

- FREE Printable Snowflake Templates
- White glue
- Glitter
- White thread (or embroidery floss)
Instructions
Step 1: Find what you need
- Gather your supplies and materials.
Step 2: Draw a snowflake with glue
- Print one of our free snowflake templates. We have over 30 templates available!Find the link in the materials list above, with more details below the tutorial.
- Place a piece of wax paper on top of the template and tape it in place with painter's tape.
- Use glue to trace the outline of the snowflake.
Step 3: Cover with glitter and allow to dry
- Sprinkle glitter generously onto the glue, covering it completely.
- Remove the tape and lift the wax paper up, tipping it to remove the excess glitter.
- Allow the glue to dry overnight.
Step 4: Add an ornament hanger
- Very carefully, peel the snowflake off the wax paper. Start by lifting up each point and then work your way to the middle.
- Thread a needle with white sewing thread or 1 strand of embroidery floss.Poke the needle through one point of the snowflake.
- Pull one side of the thread through, remove the needle, and tie a knot in the end of the thread, creating a hanger.
- Your glitter snowflake is complete!
- Now have fun making all kinds of colourful and sparkly snowflake ornaments using different snowflake patterns!
