How to Make Christmas Bean Art

Christmas bean art is SO FUN to put together! It’s the perfect craft for kids and adults to have fun turning beans into holiday art together!

Step 1: Find what you need

  • Gather your supplies and materials.
    Paint, tree template, glue, cardboard, and 2 bowls of lentils

Step 2: Cut and paint your base

  • Cut thin cardboard into a Christmas shape.
    You can trace one of our Christmas tree templates, or find more template links below the tutorial.

  • Paint the cardboard tree green and allow to dry.

Step 3: Add the beans

  • Apply a generous amount of white glue to the top third of the tree.

  • Begin adding beans or lentils that match your paint colour into the glue.

  • Place different colours of beans in randomly to be the tree's ornaments.

  • Fill in the entire glued area with beans, and then add more glue to the center of the tree.

  • Repeat, adding more beans to the middle section. Remember to add in the "ornaments" here and there.
    Then continue, adding glue and beans until the whole tree is full.

  • Allow the glue to dry.
