Print our free honeycomb snowman template and cut out the shapes.(We recommend printing the template on cardstock or copying the pattern onto cardboard for a sturdy template that’s easy to trace).
Trace the snowman body onto white cardstock and cut out 35 pieces.
Fold each of the snowmen in half lengthwise.
Open the fold and add 2 horizontal lines of glue where the "snowballs" meet.
Fold in half again, pressing down to make it stick. Repeat for the rest of the pieces.
Add three horizontal lines of glue to the folded snowman, 1 in the center of each snowball.
Set another of the folded snowmen on top. Line up the edges as you connect the 2 pieces of paper.
Repeat this gluing process until all the snowman pieces are connected.
Line up the edges neatly and then attach a binder clip to the papers so they stay together as the glue dries.
Step 3: Make the hat
Cut 25 hat pieces from black cardstock.
Fold each of the hat pieces in half from right to left.Open the hats and add 2 horizontal lines of glue, 1 to the top and 1 to the bottom.
Add a horizontal line of glue across the center of one of the folded hats.
Stack and glue the rest of the hat pieces and secure them with a binder clip as the glue dries.
Step 4: Open the shapes and glue together
Once the glue is completely dry, remove the binder clip from the snowman and slowly open the papers to reveal a honeycomb shape.
Add the 3 lines of glue to one of the flat sides (the former top or bottom of the bundle).
Bring the outside edges together, creating the 3D snowman shape. Secure each of the glue spots with a small binder clip.
Use the circle template to cut a circle from white cardstock.
Add a generous amount of glue to the circle and place it on the top center of the snowman's head. This will allow the hat to sit straight.
Open the hat honeycomb and then add the line of glue to the center.
Connect the outside pieces and then clip the hat together as it dries.
Once all the glue has dried, remove the binder clips and glue the hat to the top of the snowman's head. Again, allow glue to dry.
Optional: Cut a 12 inch piece of ribbon in a festive holiday colour and drape it around the snowman's neck as a scarf. Glue one layer of ribbon to the other so it stays in place.
