To make this flower crown you'll need 2 kinds of wire (thin and thick), floral tape, wire cutters, and needle nose pliers.
You'll also need to gather the flowers and greenery you'd like on your flower crown. We used faux flowers, but you can also use real flowers. For artificial flowers, pull or cut the flowers off the stem. For real flowers, cut the flowers off with 2 - 3 inches of stem remaining.
Step 2: Make the wire crown
Loosely measure the size of your head. You need the measurement to be a bit bigger than your actual head size because the flowers add bulk to the crown, making it a bit smaller.
Cut the 16 gauge wire about 1 inch longer than your head measurement.
Use the pliers to create a small hook on each end of the wire.
Bend the wire into a circle, connecting the hooks together. Use the pliers to press down on the connection, securing the wires together.
Wrap green floral tape around the wire until it's completely covered.
Cut about 25 lengths of the thinner wire approximately 2 inches long.(The amount needed will depend on the number of flowers and greenery you add to your crown.)
Step 3: Add greenery and flowers to the crown
Start by adding your larger greenery to the crown.Hold a leaf against the wrapped wire. Wrap one of the small lengths of thin wire around the leaf stem. Wind the wire tightly around the stem and crown until you run out of wire.
Repeat with 2 or 3 other large greenery pieces, being sure to space them out.
Next add some baby's breath so that it overlaps with one of the leaves. Wind a thin piece of wire around the stem of the flower to keep it in place.
Attach more baby's breath, spacing it evenly around the crown.
Attach the stem of a pink rose (or another small flower of your choice) to the crown with a piece of thin wire. Our flowers had wire attached to them already, but you can also use the small wires you cut.
Add more of the same flower type all around the crown. You can even add some in groups of two or three to make it look more natural.
Add another flower in a complimentary colour (we chose white). Try adding the flower at a different angle from the one beside it to create a fuller crown.
Add more white flowers around the crown. We used two different types to add some variety.
If you have any empty spaces, go back and fill them with coloured flowers. Try to add enough flowers so that none of the wires are showing.
Wrap wire around one end of a longer piece of greenery (we chose eucalyptus) to add more of a natural look to the crown.Add 3 to 4 more eucalyptus sprigs to the crown, spreading them out and attaching them at different angles.
