Today I was short on time, but I still needed to put together some candy for a little treat bag that I plan to give to Leah on Valentine’s Day. Since I was in a hurry, all of the treats ended up being pretty simple, but I realized that that makes them easy Valentine’s Day candy crafts for preschoolers, kids or adults!
To get myself warmed up, I started with these tootsie pop butterflies. I did not come up with these, but they are so adorable I had to print out the template and make them for myself! You can download the template from Skip to my Lou.
For the Valentine’s Day candy corn I just wrapped a few in cellophane and tied them with a pink pipe cleaner, which I then shaped into two hearts:
I love how simple the jelly bean bag is. Hopefully my brain will store this idea, because I’m sure it will come in handy as my girls get older! You just take a zip lock bag, and staple a folded piece of paper onto it, just like you would get at the store. If I had more time I would have loved to print something for the label, but I just used XOXO foam letters to decorate it.
I couldn’t decide which Hershey’s kiss caterpillar I liked better so I did two. One has heart antenna and the other one just has regular antenna.
I think they both have a little attitude!
As far as household tasks on my to-do list, this one was just a really little project, but it still had to get done! Besides, it’s kind of fun getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit!
