To make a variety of pasta flowers you'll need at least 3 or 4 types of pasta. We used 6 varieties of dried noodles to make our pasta flower craft: rotelle (wagon wheel), macaroni, penne, pennette, fusilli, and shells.
Step 2: Form the pasta flower
Place parchment or wax paper on your working surface. This will allow you to easily peel the glued flower off when you're finished.Arrange the pasta on the parchment paper to make your flower shape. For this flower we used a piece of shell pasta for the center, with eight pieces of fusilli as the petals.
Once you're happy with your pasta flower design, pick up one of the pieces of fusilli and add a bit of hot glue.
Glue the fusilli to the center shell.
Continue until you've glued all the pieces of pasta to the center.
Step 3: Attach the stem and leaves
Add hot glue to the center back of your flower.
Press a wooden skewer into the hot glue and add more glue on top to secure it. This is your flower's stem.
Add a dot of glue to the end of a piece of pennette.
Attach the pennette to the side of the wooden skewer. Add a second piece pointing in the opposite direction.Your flower stem now has leaves!
Step 4: Paint your pasta flower
Use red acrylic paint to cover the front of the flower petals, leaving the center shell unpainted.
Flip the flower over and paint the entire back of the flower, including the top of the skewer.
Be sure to paint the sides of the flower so that all of the fusilli is covered.
Flip the flower over and add yellow paint to the center shell.
Paint the stem and the leaves with green paint. Allow to dry and do a second coat of all colours, if needed.
